BRITTANY offers hundreds of quaint secondary roads away from the traffic wiggling in and out of very typical granite built villages and hamlets, giving a rich choice of routes through the beautiful countryside. Brittany cycling holidays is the perfect terrain for road cycling and offers great training for any rider.

We make it our mission to sample the coffee from local cafes found in almost every village en route so that you have the perfect coffee stop to recharge before continuing the ride. Yellovelo’s Brittany cycling holidays operate in Brittany during the spring and autumn months in the area made famous by the Mont St. Michel, St. MaloFougeres (has the oldest Medieval Castle in Europe) and cider! Val De Rance cider is in our opinion the best French cider and we’d recommend a sip before your holiday is over! Our area of Brittany is home to some lovely country estates, castles, local markets, and not forgetting the seaside port town of Cancale which is famous all over France for its exquisite seafood.

There are many cycling events that Brittany hosts during the spring, such as local circuit racing in the villages to the Tour De Bretagne. The Tour De Bretagne is a great event to watch young riders and pro teams and is a great opportunity for cycling enthusiasts to potentially spot future Tour De France winners!

BRITTANY PRE SEASON TRAINING FOR CLUB RIDERS

Training in Brittany gives any rider the luxury of quiet roads and endless route options to suit various training programmes.  Undulating terrain with surprisingly steep & cheeky gradients, invisible mountains and long descents all make an ideal training ground for any rider’s ambitions.

Why Brittany? What’s so  special about it? Bernard Hinault 5 times Tour winner, Louison Bobbet Winner of the Tour De France three consecutive years, rookie David Gaudu who won Tour De L’Avenir in 2016 and not forgetting French pro rider with Giant, Warren Barguil were all Brittany born and trained! Not forgetting of course that the famous town of Plumelec that pops up in the Tour De France as well as hosting the 2016 European Cycling Championships.  Enough said!
